Providing comfort and a landing place for mothers is deeply personal to me. In the last eight years, I’ve found myself personally in the throes of motherhood and in need of a place to land that provides peace and respite.
In 2018, I had my first Mother’s Day. I didn’t know it at the time, but I would have my first daughter a week later. The business was new (started in 2016), and being a mom was new. It was a very challenging season. But where I found my landing place was in the rocking chair, with a blanket, rocking my baby and praying. I prayed for my business, for my baby’s future, and for mine. There was nothing more peaceful, joyful, and settling than rocking a sleeping baby, curled up in a chair with my blanket at the end of the day.
I’m sure many mothers can relate to this feeling. It can be so chaotic during the day, and the bedtime routine can be grueling too, but then you get that moment of peace with your baby, wrapped in softness, and it’s almost like all of that melts away. You find your perfect peace and purpose in that quiet moment.
As your kids get older, the rocking chair goes away, but then you get snuggles in your bed, movies on the couch, reading them chapter books at night in their own big-kid beds, and singing songs before sleep sets in. Those moments are equally sweet and again give us a soft moment to land with our kids at the end of the day.
I have a long way to go before my kids leave the house. The thought of it makes me emotional. But I know the mothering won’t end then. I can only imagine the time spent in prayer only increases at night as the little ones you created are released into the world.
Regardless of which stage of motherhood you are in, I know the need remains constant — to find a place to rest, find peace, and have a moment of quiet. I pray the products we make can be that for all mothers. Whether it’s crib sheets to lay your baby down to sleep, a throw blanket for the couch or rocking chair, or a set of sheets for when you FINALLY fall into bed at night, I hope we can be your place to land.
With all the blessings in my heart,
Anna

How beautiful, and true. Thank you for putting into words what most of us moms feel in our hearts as well.

Such a sweet and endearing letter to all mothers everywhere… It’s so nice to be “seen.”
As one of those moms, thank you.

Happy Mother’s Day to you, I found my first set of sheets in a thrift store that had been donated because they didn’t pass inspection. I read the label and looked it up. I did not know at first that your business was in Moulton. I live in Priceville. Knowing that the cotton is grown not very far from us in our state makes it even more special. Since then I have purchased many many many things for myself, my daughter, son and grandchildren. We all love every bit of it!!! I work long night shifts at a hospital close by, and coming home so exhausted and getting to go to sleep under those sheets, blankets, duvets and pillows makes everything just melt away. Keep doing what you’re doing, I’m sure everyone that has purchased anything from Red Land Cotton are just as pleased as I am. I would like to replace all of my towels next! I have a few already and love those as well.
