Red Land Cotton would be nothing without the community we have around us. This is a community we have grown since the early days of the business when I was posting and blogging about the steps we were taking to make our first bed sheets. We've grown this community through local news outlets and major news networks. Probably most importantly, we've grown this community through word of mouth. A friend telling a friend, a neighboring sharing a story, a family member having pieces in their home when you visit for holidays. For the last 10 years, we've been growing this community.
And when hard times have fallen, the community has shown up. This year, as we looked at a supply chain that needed to be built back up, this community was patient, encouraging and supportive. You told us what mattered to you and that inspired us to keep searching and working to find a way to keep Red Land Cotton's dream a reality. The American dream matters to you all, and it matters to us.
It's not enough to acknowledge the community we've built, but I think it's necessary for us to understand the "why" behind the community.
The first "why" is easy and straightforward and our customers tell us this every chance they get. You all LOVE supporting American made products. You love that these products support textile towns, rural communities and blue collar workers. You love that the products use domestic resources and domestic talent to craft them. You love your country and know it's capable of producing the best of the best. This community loves America and it's people and that's why you are here.
The second "why" is the quality of the products and how they last and endure. We love to hear "I've had my sheets for 5+ years". We love to see repeat customers come back and get a set for each bed in their home and then some for their children. We love to see you come back for towels, blankets and more because your first experience proved the price was worth it. Without quality, we wouldn't see or hear these things. You all know that you get what you pay for and that these are investment pieces — not disposable items.
Finally, the third "why" is the nostalgia. The heirloom nature of it all. Our products aren't trendy and they don't have a sleek and polished look or feel. They feel like your grandmothers house or your bed from childhood. They are comforting and stable, not flimsy and loose. I believe our customers come back for the memory of the product too and what it means to them. I recently spoke on a podcast where I talked about getting inspiration from the past. The past is a great place to go and look for designs and styles that would still resonate today. If a design in the 1700s would still speak to a room in 2026, it's timeless heirloom beauty and thats what our products not only look like, but feel like. Our community sees that, and thats why they come back.
You all have showed up for us in such a big way over the last 10 years. You have made Red Land Cotton what she is just as much as I have. I'm so thankful for this community and all you mean to all of us who are in this — working to revitalize America's textile supply chain while creating beautiful, quality enduring pieces for you to love.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
